Description

Founded in 1989 Blacks at Microsoft (BAM) is a company-sponsored diversity organization dedicated to supporting the continued growth and development of African-American employees of Microsoft Corporation. More than 500 Microsoft employees are members of BAM. In addition to financial assistance scholarship recipients are connected with BAM members for mentoring throughout their college careers. The program has been successful in bringing graduates to Microsoft as employees.
Criteria/Eligibility

  • Be a high school senior anywhere in the United States.
  • Be of African descent
  • Demonstrate financial need.
  • Have a GPA of 3.2 or higher.
  • Plan to pursue higher education in the upcoming fall (attend a four-year university or two-year community college anywhere in the United States).
  • Plan to pursue a bachelors degree in an engineering or science related discipline.
  • Demonstrate a passion for technology.
  • Demonstrate leadership either at school or in the community.
