Building A Healthy Community

Grantmaking is a major way Seattle Foundation invests in the future of Greater Seattle. Each year, we award grants to hundreds of nonprofit organizations working to make meaningful and lasting change in our community. We vet these organizations carefully and stay in close touch. We make site visits, collaborate on community initiatives and ensure that each grant is used for maximum impact.

To guide these decisions, we worked with our network of partners to develop the Healthy Community Framework, which identifies eight essential aspects of society that must be supported in order for a community to thrive.

Healthy Community Framework

The Healthy Community Framework helps us determine how we invest in our region. Join us in making an impact by selecting the area of need you care most passionately about and targeting your giving to the associated Healthy Community Fund.
