Why doesn't the character count in the online application match the character count in Word?
If you are pasting in your grant application text from Word or another program, you may notice that the character count in the grant application doesn't always match the character count in Word. Your character count in Word will usually be higher than your character count in the grant application. The grant application includes carriage returns when it figures out how many characters you have used. Word does not include carriage returns.
We are aware of this discrepancy and have shared the issue with our software vendor.
