Description

The purpose of the Dorothy E. General Scholarship is to honor her by offering financial support to an African American student(s) who is pursuing, or intends to pursue, a profession in the field of helathcare.
Criteria/Eligibility

  • African American
  • Undergraduate or graduate/professional student in good standing with the intention of pursuing a healthcare profession, such as: public health, medicine, nursing, or dental. Pre-professional studies are eligible as well.
  • Demonstrate financial need
  • Proven academic competence
  • Proven leadership of African American students
  • Applicant may be from any state and may attend school in any state

Scholarship Specific Essay Question

Please provide in typed form, a brief essay describing your future aspirations, including career goals, and how your study of healthcare will help you achieve them and contribute to the African American community.

Essay should be no more than two pages, double-spaced.

Additional Instructions

Letters of recommendation should be from people who know you -- one through academic experience and one outside your academic experience.
