Fire crews continue to battle the Taylor Bridge wildfire that is being fueled by dry conditions and strong winds. Many homes and thousands of acres have already burned, forcing local residents and livestock to evacuate. There are a number of ways to support emergency relief efforts, including supporting the
Red Cross, which has opened a shelter at the Cle Elum Senior; Central Washington University has also established a
Taylor Bridge Fire Relief Fund to benefit local Red Cross efforts; the Central Valley Bank in Ellensburg has created the Rodeo City Equine Rescue account to support animal care needs resulting from the fire (to donate, call (509) 925-5444); and United Way Kittitas County established a
Fire Recovery Fund to provide support for families as they recover from the disaster.
Kittitas County residents are using Facebook to connect victims and provide information about
needs,
resources and even
animal recovery.
