Staff from The Seattle Foundation participated in the Art Goes to School: Building a Community of Thinkers Summit in October at the Seattle Art Museum. The theme of the convening was “Closing the Gap: The Role of the Arts in 21st Century Student Learning.” This meeting brought together key decision makers to engage in a critical dialogue about arts learning opportunities for all students. Additionally, local funders met during the summit with a representative of The Wallace Foundation to discuss their recent $1 million planning grant to Seattle Public Schools focused on arts education.
