The Seattle Foundation is partnering with
Hopelink on the Nourishing Networks project, which is an effort focused on responding to local hunger issues and mobilizing the community to respond. Norman Rice and Linda Nageott, President and CEO of
Food Lifeline, are co-chairing the Leadership Team. A summit was held the week before Thanksgiving in an effort to begin mapping existing services and identify gaps that are not being met by current human service providers, as well as to explore community solutions to fill these gaps. Five of the six local Nourishing Networks are in motion and creating their activities and goals. We will continue to work with the networks to build the frame and the support mechanisms that will allow the local networks to grow, connect and impact hunger issues in their communities.
