Community Day Center for Children Programs

Community Day Center for Children provides early education for children up to age 5 through engaging programming. CDCC's educational philosophy is to:
  • Provide a culturally diverse atmosphere where children learn through social interaction.
  • Provide a stimulating environment filled with age-appropriate materials, which encourage exploration, trial-and-error learning, and the development of competence.
  • Provide an atmosphere where it is understood that family members are and will always be the most important people in the life of a child.
  • Support the individuals who are the strength of our program — the professionals who work with the children.
Because we serve families who receive financial assistance and public assistance, we work collaboratively with other direct action organizations in the community for early education access for under-served groups. This collaboration extends to our advocacy work for early educators to be systematically supported.

Recent Successes and Current Challenges

Our greatest challenge is to be able to expand our programs and continue providing quality education to under-served communities in an accessible way, as legislation continues to cut access to early education for these communities. Our current priorities are to meet this growing need by increasing scholarship opportunities for families with financial hardship or facing gaps in employment to support continuity in child education. In addition, the challenges we face are related to capital improvement expansions to help support healthy, active and balanced programming.
