Recent Successes and Current Challenges
Our greatest and newest success is a result of 6 years of work. DVS received local property from the Military in 2011. The construction of the property begins on April 2, 2013, with a move-in date of October 14, 2013. Once completed, we will go from our existing 15 beds to 52 beds, an increase of 300%.
With the new property, mentioned above, coming to us soon, the need for support has increased tremendously. For the new shelter we will need beds, bedding, furniture, computers, playground equipment, labor, fixtures, etc.
In the interim, we always need operational support, program support, outreach materials, etc.
