Duvall Friends of the Library Programs
DFOL holds an annual used book sale that is the primary fundraiser to support programs and services at the Duvall Public Library. DFOL sponsors an official book club, Duvall Reads, that was founded on the one-book, one-community concept. Additionally, DFOL offers a membership program to area residents to raise funds for the library and to engage community members in volunteer service and literary promotion.
Recent Successes and Current Challenges
Duvall Friends of the Library recently held a fundraiser for the base of a new sculpture that will be housed in our new library upon completion this summer. It was a resounding success- we were able to raise $5000 for the base and once expenses for the event were covered, we raised an additional $2000 which will go toward programming, our grand opening and staff appreciation. We partnered with the Northwest Art Center to achieve this goal and couldn't have done it without their hard work. We are currently working to build membership to provide a sustainable level of support, as we expect the new library to increase usage and need more programming once it opens.
