Jubilee REACH

Description

Jubilee provides Resources, Education, Assistance, Community & Hospitality to youth and families on the margins. Jubilee partners with local churches, community service organizations, the Bellevue School District, the City of Bellevue, local businesses and community leaders to support and affirm youth education, sustain healthy families and build relational communities. Jubilee serves as a ‘hub’ services support center, to support, serve and advocate for the real, relational needs of underserved youth and families.

Mission Statement
The mission of Jubilee REACH is to love our neighbor; to connect local schools, businesses, service organizations, government and the church in service to the community. A core value of Jubilee REACH is to provide a hand up, not a hand out. Our call is to love our neighbor. We provide a caring and hospitable place to build relationships and earn trust so that we may learn the real needs of people.

Jubilee REACH Programs

Community Care
Reaching out to come alongside families in their homes, to love, listen, and learn, then respond with support to provide a foundation to inspire hope, sustain families and build interdependent lives through what we refer to as PEER (Presence, Empathy, Encouragement, Resources) relationships.

ESL & Talk Time, StoryTime/ Play & Learn
From isolation to integration. Fellowship through speaking, reading and writing in English, opening the doors to social relationships and job skills. Pre-elementary preparation for the classroom. Engage children in structured learning and socialization opportunities while their parents learn English next door.

Before and After School Services and Enrichment
We provide morning and afternoon enrichment at Jubilee REACH and on-site at school.   Early morning emotional and educational nourishment. Loving kids and allowing parents to get to jobs that sustain their families. In the afternoon, teens "come home" to a snack and chat with adult mentors, receive homework assistance and engage in music, computer, art and life skills programs.  On-site at school we provide enrichment activities, tutoring and sports programs to keep kids engaged in their education.

Recent Successes and Current Challenges

We successfully opened a Thrift Store in October of 2009 in Bellevue. Our Community Care program alone successfully served 351 individuals in 2009 through housing, education and employment.

There is still huge financial need in the Community Care Program as we are only meeting a small fraction of the need in the community particularly homeless prevention. There is also a need for caregiver to staff the Community Care program and also volunteers to staff the After School Program.
