Lung Cancer Alliance Programs
WHAT WE DO
Provide live, real time support, referral and information services for patients, their loved ones and those at risk for the disease. Conduct national awareness campaigns, such as Team Lung Love and the National Shine A Light on Lung Cancer Vigil to educate the public about the facts, dispel myths and share calls-to-action that will reduce the stigma of the disease. Advocate for multiple millions in public health dollars for lung cancer research by using targeted political strategies mobilizing a nationwide network of volunteer advocates.
Recent Successes and Current Challenges
Founded in 1995, our first priority and founding hallmark is to meet the needs of lung cancer patients and those at risk. As the largest lung cancer advocacy organization in the world, we work tirelessly to improve outcomes, eliminate stigma and secure public health research dollars. Thanks primarily to the support of thousands of individuals who initially get help from us and then in turn desire to give back, we have met many milestones:
- Reaching thousands of hospitals and cancer centers nationwide and responding to thousands of calls and emails per month so that patients and families know that they're not alone -- and that we are here to help through free support, information and referral services.
- Empowering families to help eliminate stigma through successful national awareness campaigns, including Give A Scan, Team Lung Love, and the National Shine A Light on Lung Cancer Vigil reaching every state.
- Training thousands of lung cancer activists to educate elected officials and secure millions more in public health research dollars.
