Mount Baker Community Club

Description

Established in 1909, the Mount Baker Community Club hosts community celebrations to bring neighborhood families together, as well as Club activities that offer many opportunities for neighbors and friends with common interests to come together and/or exchange views on relevant issues. The Club is 501(c)3 non-profit organization; its membership consists of everyone who lives, works or goes to school within the Mount Baker neighborhood boundaries.  The Club welcomes all members and their friends to its year-round arts and public interest programming, including lectures, community events, and arts presentations.

Mount Baker Community Club Programs

We accomplish our mission by providing:
  • A broad array of organized activities to improve our quality of life and build community;

  • A gathering place to bring us together;

  • A forum for exchanging information that empowers residents to engage on issues of broad interest to our diverse community;

  • Representation of the community’s interests in the civic arena, in a manner responsive to the diversity of opinions that may exist on any given issue.

Since its inception, the Mount Baker Community Club has served its community.  In more recent years, we have been able to regenerate the community's awareness and love for the Clubhouse. The Clubhouse, centrally located in the neighborhood, offers programs and events, notably Day of Service - a neighborhood-wide effort to restore our beautiful parks, Day in the Park - an outdoor festival celebrating the families and family-oriented non-profits serving our community, and Harvest The Arts, a year-long music performance and arts presentation series that invites all ages to engage in the arts.

We are committed to these events being accessible to our community members and friends, but it has become apparent that this is a cost we cannot continue to bear. We are seeking new support to best produce these proven events.

Recent Successes and Current Challenges

Since its inception, the Club has been an organization that is dedicated to facilitating good connections between neighbors. From our monthly community forum meeting to the annual signature events like the Potluck and Dance and Day In The Park, the Club continues to strive to serve the 5000 households of the historic and beautiful Mount Baker neighborhood.
