Northwest PBIS Network

Description

The NWPBIS Network serves over 1200 schools across the Northwest to provide safe and effective learning environments through the use of School-wide Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports. We help schools focus on prevention of behavioral issues such as bullying and harrassment while also delivering students with needed social skills to be successful in schools. We give schools the tools to intervene with students who are at-risk of school failure. We help schools do all of this with a focus on cultural competence and equity to best serve students from diverse economic, racial, ethnic, geographic, sexual orientation and disability backgrounds.

Mission Statement
The Northwest PBIS Network, Inc. is a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting educators as they develop, implement and sustain safe and effective learning environments where all students experience success.

Programs

Northwest PBIS Network Programs

We offer professional development and technical assistance for schools, educators and parents that are free and low cost. Last year over 1,700 people took part in one of our events.

Recent Successes and Current Challenges

In 2010 we were able to hire our first Executive Director who is currently funded part-time. This has helped us to grow our services and start to obtain grants and organize other fundraising.

Our current challenge is that we have more schools in the Northwest who need professional development than we can really serve. We need to expand our staff to offer more regionalized supports, especially to our more rural areas.
