Onyx Chamber Players Programs

Onyx Chamber Players combine a unique blend of early music performance style with the brilliance and virtuosity of modern instruments. "Layered brilliance, inner light, and unmistakable authenticity make the Onyx Chamber Players a true gem." - crosscut.com. Violinist James Garlick, cellist Meg Brennand and pianist David White perform with a transparency of sound and clarity of musical concept, peeling away much of the 20th century heaviness that has infused many readings of the traditional piano trio repertoire. Audiences and critics alike have hailed their musical energy, the exciting chemistry among the players and the musical intensity Onyx brings to their performances.

The core group of Onyx Chamber Players forms a piano trio. While they most frequently play the classical piano trio repertoire, they are often joined by guest artists to perform chamber music written for additional strings, woodwinds, brass and voice.

Recent Successes and Current Challenges

Onyx Chamber Players have received critical acclaim in Crosscut, Seattle Times, Seen And Heard International, and in The Gathering Note. We are in the process of releasing our first commercially-produced CD through Loft Recordings. We are also hoping  to record an unknown, utterly charming early Mendelssohn Piano Quartet, which to our knowledge has never been recorded. We are planning to raise money for these recording projects and we hope to build our audience support.
