Peak 7 Adventures Programs
The programs we provide here at Peak 7 consist of whitewater rafting, kayaking, rock climbing, snowshoeing, and our multiday mountain ascent trips. Most of our trips consist of one of these experiences but we are flexible and we can combine several of these adventures for a multiday experience. Most of our whitewater rafting, kayaking, and rock climbing trips are single day, but our mountain ascents and some whitewater rafting and snowshoeing trips can last for two to seven days.
We value the elements of relationship in regards to having the opportunity of speaking into someone's life. Here at Peak 7 we take very seriously our desire to serve young people. Every one of our staff members has a loving relationship with the Lord and through that we hope to model Christ-like behavior to all of our participants. For each trip this looks different--for our one day trips (kayaking, rock climbing, and whitewater rafting) we always pray with the group before they head out and then use the time in the outdoors as well as the cookout (our activity after the trip) to have opportunities to get into conversations with the participants. Finally, we end each trip with a bible study/devotional if that’s something the organization we are partnering with desires.
Our multiday day "Ascents" and whitewater rafting trips give us much more of an opportunity to dive into lives of the participants. We begin the morning with a short Bible study and then use the experiences throughout the day to relate to each individuals life. A lot of conversations happen on the trail that otherwise would not happen hanging out in the normal settings that the participants are used to. We’ve heard countless times from the leaders of our partnering organizations that they’ve never heard their youth open up as they did on our trips. At night we do a "spotlight", a chance for everyone to "tell their story." This usually is a powerful time of sharing, opening up and being vulnerable. We do another Bible study after that and wrap up the day's events from a spiritual perspective. At the end of the trip, we debrief with each participant and really speak to them on an individual basis. Even though we do encourage our participants to partake in the prayers, devotionals and bible studies, they are by no means required to. We just simply ask that they respect our time as well as their peers.
With the youth that excel on our trips and show a passion for the outdoors, the opportunity is open for these individuals to be apart of our Junior Guide program. This allows these youth to come and serve in this ministry alongside our staff for the summer helping them grow closer to Jesus and gain valuable outdoor skills in guiding, trip prep, and safety. We've seen so many amazing transformations in the lives of the young people that go through this program. It's truly a blessing to see our Junior Guides, who were once on their first trip, speaking into the lives of others who are in the shoes they once filled. Nothing beats seeing the Lord's work in one's life. It’s our mission to be able to reach out to every young person, transforming their dreams of hope and meaning into a fuller reality. Here at Peak 7 we're ecstatic to help rejuvenate the young hearts of those unaware of healing wholeness that nature provides and would love for for you to become more involved with our organization. There are many opportunities to help volunteer and help impact the lives of the youth we work with.

** We have a lot more in-depth life changing stories, so feel free to get a hold of us for those! :)
Through a high demand of our services from Seattle youth-centric organizations, we expanded into the region in 2010. We currently are looking for a small warehouse/office space for our coordinator, seasonal staff, and gear. Also in 2010, another outfitter based in the Portland region was going under and the owner donated the company to Peak 7. We deceided to keep the company and it's employees up and running and in 2012 we are proud to say it will be their first year operating under the Peak 7 name. With this expansion into the Seattle and Portland regions our overhead costs (staff ect.) have increased causing a loss to our scholarship funds. These funds are so vital because many of the groups we work with don't have the funds to afford such experiences. Our scholarship funds allow us to provide these trips for little to no cost to these participants. In Portland alone we have over 300+ youth wanting to go on these trips and Seattle has even more! Most of these groups are from shelters, boys & girls clubs, addiction centers, youth centers, and youth outreach groups. If you would like to find out the groups on this list, how many youth per group, and the cost of the trip we'd love to share that with you! Please feel free to contact Nick Johnson at
