Plymouth Healing Communities Programs
Plymouth Healing Communities currently has five living communities which serve our residents who live with chronic mental health issues. All of these are supported by our companionship model which is intrinsic to our mission. PHC began its mission by opening of the House of Healing in 2001. Here housing and one to one intensive companionship support is provided to those who have recently left hospital after a treatment for an acute mental health episode. Residents stay four to six months, living in an intentional community of four residents and four live-in companions where they are aided in their recovery.
Case management is provided by Harborview Mental Health Services. All alumni of the House of Healing also receive the ongoing support of the community comapnion after their departure. In 2003, PHC acquired Agape House, a five bedroom cluster home that serves women. Case management is provided by Community Psychiatric Clinic with companionship care provided by the community companion and specially trained volunteers.
Two years later, Hofmann House, a six bedroom cluster home that serves both men and women was opened. Case management is provided by Harborview with companionship care provided by the community companion and volunteers. Finally, Argonaut House, an eight unit and Admiral House, a fifteen unit apartment building, with residents under case management by Harborview, were acquired in December 2008 and August 2009 respectively. These acquisitions are extremely important since they provide independent living as a housing option for our clients. The community companion provides additional support through community gatherings and volunteer participation.

Recent Successes and Current Challenges
Plymouth Healing Community has recent acquired two small apartment buildings to add to it housing stock. We can now provide a full range of housing options for our residents. All of these are supported by our companionship model of care.
Plymouth Healing Communities is in need of continued operational support so that we can increse our impact on homelessness and mental illness in King County. We are always in need of companions at the House of Healing and volunteer companionship support for our other properties.
