Purrfect Pals

Description

Purrfect Pals is a no-kill shelter providing sanctuary for up to 300 difficult to adopt cats including FIV, leukemia and geriatric colonies as well as an area for cats with behavior problems. We find permanent homes for 2,000 - 2,500 cats and kittens each year through our adoption process, adopting cats directly from our shelter and also through our network of petstore partners and specially scheduled adoption events.

Mission Statement
Founded on the belief that every cat matters, Purrfect Pals provides a no-kill sanctuary, foster and hospice care for homeless cats. We work to end overpopulation through humane education, spay/neuter programs and permanent placement in quality homes.

Purrfect Pals Programs

Purrfect Pals maintains an on-site clinic providing low cost spay/neuter services for the public and free spay/neuter services for ferals. In 2008 1,500 cats and kittens were spayed or neutered through that program. All cats adopted through Purrfect Pals are spayed/neutered as well.

You will find our cats in many area pet stores including Petsmart (Everett, Lynnwood, North Seattle, Renton, Tukwila, Bellevue and Woodinville), PETCO (Kirkland, Northgate, Issaquah), Dooley's Dog House (Kirkland), Paddywack, Walker's Healthy Pet and more.

Recent Successes and Current Challenges

Recently Purrfect Pals was contacted by the Producers of Animal Planet's "Confessions: Animal Hoarding" and asked to assist with the removal of 100+ cats from a home in rural Washington.  The owner voluntarily gave up the cats after becoming overwhelmed and we were happy to help find them loving, forever homes.  Purrfect Pals, one of three rescue groups who participated in this rescue operation, took custody of twelve adult cats and fourteen kittens today.  These kitties are now under our veterinarian's care at the shelter or in foster care.
