Seattle Children's Hospital

Description

Seattle Children's is well known for its dedication to not letting childhood illness take away a childhood. One of the many ways we do that is through our summer camp for patients called Stamm Camp.

Each August, the Stanley Stamm Summer Camp gives children with serious illnesses the chance to go fishing, ride horses and take part in other activities typical of summer camp at a week-long, sleepover camp near Mt. Rainier. Our camp, founded by Seattle Children’s heart specialist Dr. Stanley Stamm, includes medical support so that children who are unable to attend other camps can join in the fun.

This year, during GiveBIG we want to use your gift to help support Stamm Camp. It costs $1,000 to send a child to camp, our goal is to raise enough through GiveBIG to send 10 children to camp!

If you want your gift to help other areas and programs at Seattle Children's - please use the comments section of our giving form to let us know.

Clinics and Programs
We provide care to children, teens and young adults throughout the Pacific Northwest through our specialty and regional clinics and telemedicine program.

Research Institute
Our discoveries in bench, clinical and outcomes research are recognized by scientists worldwide. As one of the top five pediatric research centers in the nation, we bring together the best minds in pediatric research to set new standards of pediatric care and find new cures for childhood diseases.

Recent Successes and Current Challenges

At Seattle Children's, successes last a lifetime. Infants that were among the first to experience heart-lung bypass are now graduates of college. Children suffering from Cystic Fibrosis, whose parents once thought they would never see them grow up are now celebrating marriages and grandchildren because of breakthrough research that was conducted at Seattle Children's. From transplanted hearts, to properly set broken bones, Seattle Children's continues a 100-year-old promise to care for all children in our region regardless of their families' ability to pay. That promise is held because of gifts from community members like you. Please support Seattle Children's today with your gift and help us continue our work to care for chilren today and eliminate pediatric disease in the future.
