St. Anne School

Description

St. Anne School was founded in 1923 on Queen Anne Hill and serves Seattle and the broader community.

It is our goal to educate students for life.  We provide leadership opportunities and skills that will give them tools they need not only now, but also well into their college career and beyond.  St. Anne School affirms that Catholic education encompasses the whole of human life:  spiritual, intellectual, aesthetic, cultural, psychological, physical and social.

We believe that each child is a unique individual created by God and endowed with a variety of gifts and abilities, which are nurtured within the learning environment.  We seek and work to educate our students to hold a desire for and to pursue life-long learning.

Mission Statement
The mission of St. Anne School, in partnership with parents and the parish family, is to provide a quality Catholic education that promotes educational excellence, fosters the living Gospel values, builds Christian community and inspires compassionate service.

St. Anne School Programs

St. Anne School has a commitment to a Stewardship Learning program. We prepare our students to be globally aware, value cultural diversity, advocate for justice, make a positive impact on the world though actions and show respect for our environment.

Resource and Counseling programs- St. Anne School has a commitment to the academic, personal and spiritual growth of our students. We employ two part-time Resource teachers to address the needs of students with learning challenges. We also have a part-time School Counselor on staff to address the personal and social needs of our students.

Green Team- St. Anne School is committed to preserving and protecting our environment. We reduce, recycle and reuse in our offices, lunchroom and classrooms. The Green Team (made up of students, faculty and staff members) works to continue to educate our school community on the importance of good stewardship of our earth and its resources.

Recent Successes and Current Challenges

St. Anne School has been recognized for our unique Stewardship Learning program that educates students to give back through service to others in need. A staff position is dedicated to implementing this program across all grade levels but with a focus in the middle school. Before service is directed toward an organization, students research the need and mission of the organization. Once service is performed, students spend time reflecting on the experience to fully integrate it into their understanding.

St. Anne School is  committed to providing a quality Catholic education that promotes educational excellence, builds Christian community, fosters the living of Gospel values and inspires compassionate service. Our goal is to not turn away students who are unable to afford the full cost of tuition. More than 15% of our students receive financial assistance. During the 2011-12 school year we provided more than $100,000 in aid to needy families. Charitable giving, financial subsidy from our parish and fundraising efforts, all contribute to helping us reach our tuition assistance goals. We could always use more resources in this area.
