Description

Thank you for your interest in St. Cecilia Catholic School.  We offer an exceptional academic program, a friendly, helpful community and a spirit of purpose which is contagious.  Our academic environment addresses the social, emotional, and spiritual dimensions of all young people from Preschool through Eighth Grade.  Christian values are reinforced through reverence, respect, and responsibility.  Beginning in 2001 as a preschool only, we now offer an excellent academic Catholic education to children in Preschool - Eighth Grade to the communities of Bainbridge Island and North Kitsap County.

Why St. Cecilia Catholic School?

  • A strong academic education rooted in Catholic moral and social justice principles.
  • An opportunity for children to grow spiritually, academically, socially, and physically.
  • Small student/teacher ratio
  • In addition to the core subjects of math, science, social studies, and language arts, our students study religion, music and music history. Swimming, Gymnastics, P.E., and Art are offered to K-8th grade students.  Spanish and Choir, Band and Orchestra are offered to 5th-8th grade students.

Extra-curricular activites include sports for 4th-8th grade students, student council, after school classes including French & Science Clubs, and before & after school care. These popular programs allow students to learn in a fun & relaxed way.

We offer two web-based reading assessment programs: Head Sprout for preschool & Kindergarten students, and Accelerated Reader for elementary & middle school students.  We also offer IXL, a web-based math practice and review program for K-8 students.

Recent Successes and Current Challenges

We are celebrating the success of powerful teaching and learning. In 2008 our staff and principal moved to standards-based grading, and looked at curriculum mapping of subjects and grade level expectations. Teachers use that as their compass in teaching. The results have been outstanding.  Our 2012 ITBS scores were in the upper 10% of the nation.  Many of our students are working at 1.5-2 years above grade level.  In 2012 twenty-nine of our students participated in the Washington State Science & Engineering Fair.  All of them won awards for the quality of their projects.

In July of 2010 our school moved into a beautiful new facility.  Since that time our student enrollment has grown significantly.  We are in need of new technology and textbooks to accomodate our growing student population.
