Weekly Active Women, Healthy Women Classes
Team Survivor Northwest's base line exercise program, Active Women-Healthy Women addresses five wellness components:
- Create body awareness and exercise as a tool for personal wellness
- Through “Facts & Tips” gain understanding of their disease and how to reduce recurrence
- An atmosphere of support, create camaraderie and survivorship that will help bring hope, purpose, motivation and determination to conquer their fear of recurrence and shame from body modification
- Manage stress
- Assist each participant to establish a base line of goals for flexibility (stretching), strengthening, balance, coordination, and cardio
- Celebrate success of other survivors as well as personal goal achievement – however small
