GiveBIG 2016 Toolkit Part 3 - Technology and Profile Instructions

Part three of a four-part “Campaign in a Box” DIY toolkit that includes digital marketing resources for community nonprofits to make the most of Seattle Foundation's GiveBIG 2016.

March 10, 2016

GiveEasy, GiveEarly, GiveSmart.

We’re excited to have Kimbia, a market leader in online fundraising and crowdfunding platforms, as Seattle Foundation’s payment processing partner for GiveBIG 2016. With Kimbia, we are able to prepare nonprofits for our region's biggest annual day of philanthropy with a platform that that will help drive fundraising and generate financial support to create a stronger, more vibrant region. By making giving easier, earlier and smarter, we believe the community will ultimately give more! Together, we WILL make an impact.
If your 501(c)(3) King County-based nonprofit organization is registering for GiveBIG, you may learn more about the Kimbia platform by downloading our technology and profile instructions GiveBIG Toolkit – Part Three.

GiveEasy

When it comes to technology, mobile responsiveness is key in today’s world. With Kimbia’s mobile design and features, busy philanthropists on the go will find it much easier to contribute to their nonprofits of choice as the impact that they can make in the community is just a smartphone away.

In addition, online stores know that the availability of a shopping cart encourages multiple purchases. The same is true with GiveBIG 2016. Kimbia is the only platform for community giving campaigns with a “giving cart” that allows for multiple donations in a single transaction, making it easier for philanthropists to generously support many organizations.

GiveEarly

Our new partnership with Kimbia will allow community philanthropists the opportunity to contribute to nonprofits participating in GiveBIG in advance, beginning as early as April 18, giving your organization a jump start on your GiveBIG 2016 fundraising goals.

We are confident this new technology platform will fuel greater success for your organization in GiveBIG 2016. Seattle Foundation presents GiveBIG and invests in the marketing, training, support and technology required by the campaign, at no charge to the participating nonprofit organizations. Seattle Foundation receives no fee income from GiveBIG. There is a standard credit card fee assessed on each transaction and paid to Kimbia, in accordance with the disbursement agreement.  In order to offer these new features and ensure we have a stable and secure platform, Kimbia’s payment processing fees are higher than our previous vendor, Click & Pledge. The new payment processing fee is 4.9%.

GiveSmart

Kimbia also supports your organization’s success in GiveBig by providing donors with the option to cover the payment processing fee, a feature that was not previously available. Kimbia’s experience is that 40% of donors do this, resulting in more income to your organization. We believe this capability, coupled with the dynamic platform to support more effective online fundraising, will support your organization’s continued success with GiveBIG.

And, Kimbia supports matching funds so you can promote and track donations to meet your goal to secure matching funds. Many nonprofit organizations have successfully used matching funds to multiply the impact of GiveBIG and we’re very pleased to provide the tools to give visibility and momentum to this important fundraising strategy.
