We are thrilled to announce that the checks have gone out for our GiveTogether summer event, which successfully raised $1.3 million. Those funds are being invested in the community via grants to a diverse selection of nonprofits working to address pressing issues across Greater Seattle.
Unlike previous GiveTogether efforts, which targeted a single interest area within our Healthy Community Framework, this summer we expanded the giving effort across six critical areas of community need (download the infographic to learn more about how each issue fits into our Healthy Community Framework)
Addressing homelessness
Fostering education for living-wage careers
Expanding out-of-school learning opportunities
Addressing climate change
Prioritizing mental health
Integrating immigrant and refugee communities
The GiveTogether Committee selected these issue areas after reviewing nearly 200 proposals from a strong pool of grant applicants. After a four-month process, we are excited to share the 96 organizations selected to receive funding.
This collective effort is a great example of how Seattle Foundation works in concert with local nonprofits to identify and address critical needs—and strengthen the community as a whole. A huge thank you to all who contributed and to all the nonprofits who are working to build a better Seattle.
Congratulations to each of the following organizations!
