Freedom of the press
An independent writer, editor, strategist, lecturer, curator and creative director, Leah crafts stories that stir change and inspire human connection. From 2011 to 2018, she was Editor in Chief of City Arts, an award-winning magazine that celebrated and demystified Seattle’s multifaceted creative community. She previously served as Brand & Editorial Director at Pyramid Communications, producing messaging and materials for leading nonprofits and philanthropies across the region. She also founded and ran the nationally distributed zine RIVET and co-founded Shunpike, which empowers artists through equitable access to business services and expertise. Prior to arriving in Seattle in 2001, she worked for a Hollywood literary manager, helping to facilitate adaptations of books and magazine stories for the screen.
Leah grew up in the Detroit suburbs and studied journalism and creative writing at Northwestern University.
