John Hotta is a private investor and retired technology executive

John Hotta is a private investor and retired technology executive. He began his career conducting AI research for the RAND Corporation. His professional experience includes over 20 years in technology with key leadership roles at Microsoft and Accenture.

He advises public and private company boards on technology including cyber security, privacy, and social media. He currently chairs the Seattle Foundation’s Technology Advisory Committee. He serves on the boards of Swedish Healthcare (Washington State) and Martha Graham (New York City). The Financial Times recently named John as one of the Agenda Digital 50.

His civic activities includes community leadership programs (including Leadership Tomorrow, Leadership Eastside, and EDI) and Microsoft’s Give Campaign (as a loaned executive) which generates over $100M per year for U.S. nonprofits.

John graduated with honors from Harvard University, the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, and UCLA.
