Join us for a conversation with Marc Dones, recently appointed Executive Director, King County Regional Homelessness Authority and Daniel Narváez Zavala, Interim Director, King County Partners Group.

This salon-style conversation will focus on the ways public sector leaders, people with lived experience, providers, and philanthropists are coming together for this unique and bold new comprehensive cross-system approach to the region’s homelessness and affordable housing crisis.

Marc Dones, Chief Executive Officer, King County Regional Homelessness Authority
Appointed April 2021. Marc (they/them pronouns) is a social entrepreneur, policy strategist, and social justice activist with over 10 years of experience in equitable systems transformation. Prior to taking on the role of inaugural CEO for the King County Regional Homelessness Authority, Marc was the founder and Executive Director of the National Innovation Service (NIS), a consulting firm that helps governments redesign their approaches to supporting marginalized populations. Marc has also held leadership roles in social impact, policy and program design, and continuous improvement at the Center for Social Innovation (C4 Innovations), and is a faculty member at the School of Visual Arts (SVA). Marc holds a degree from NYU in Psychiatric Anthropology and is an experienced equity trainer.

Daniel Narváez Zavala, JD, MA Interim Director, King County Partners Group
Daniel Zavala, JD, MA, oversees all aspects of Building Changes' operations and leads the organization's efforts to advance equitable responses to homelessness. Prior to assuming the role of executive director, Daniel served as director of policy and strategic communications. Daniel currently serves as the Interim Director, King County Partners Group.

For more than 25 years, Kris has worked as a nonprofit executive, strategist, grantmaker, and fundraiser, bridging two of her passions—advocating for equity and opportunity and for strategic philanthropy. Before joining Seattle Foundation, Kris served as the Chief Executive Officer of Pride Foundation where she led its efforts to mobilize individual and institutional resources to affect real change in communities that are most impacted by injustices.

Stephanie McLemore Bray, Chief Engagement Officer, Seattle Foundation
Stephanie brings over 30 years of experience in the non-profit sector, having served local, regional and national organizations that provide access to quality healthcare, higher education and economic stability to under resourced communities. Most recently, Stephanie served as the President and CEO of United Way California Capital Region in Sacramento, CA, where she launched a 20-year initiative to address poverty through education for low-income families.
