Steve brings over 20 years’ experience in the nonprofit and government sectors working in the areas of housing, homelessness, behavioral health, seniors, and veterans.

Prior to joining the Seattle Foundation, Steve spent 8 years as the Chief Financial Officer for the King County Department of Community and Human Services (DCHS). While at DCHS, Steve managed an annual budget of approximately $1 billion and worked to redesign processes that standardized, streamlined and centralized department wide systems. He successfully led the department in a redesign of the financial system and also led a project to redesign the centralized contracting process which was grounded with an equity lens and approach.

Prior to DCHS, Steve served as the CFO for the Los Angeles Homelessness Authority. While at LA County, Steve created and implemented a federally required compliance program, which ensured the integrity of public funds, provided much needed technical assistance to small, culturally specific organizations to help them grow their organization to serve the residents in the community. Steve enjoys biking around the Puget Sound, playing tennis and cooking for friends.

Steve has been working at Seattle Foundation since 2021.
