Dziko guided the Technology Access Foundation to statewide leadership in public education.
Seattle Foundation is pleased to announce that Trish Millines Dziko, the co-founder of a leading organization in public education, recently joined our Board of Trustees.
Dziko co-founded the Technology Access Foundation (TAF) in 1996 after spending 17 years in the technology industry. TAF partners with public schools to promote the highest level of student learning and to increase the number and retention of education leaders of color in Washington state.
Seattle Foundation Board Chair, Dr. Ed Taylor, spoke highly of Dziko’s commitment to equity and education.
“Trish is a committed, proactive leader who has used her passion for equity, justice, and education to transform the lives of children across Washington state,” Taylor shared. “We’re thrilled she has decided to put her talents to use at Seattle Foundation as we work together to move past the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic and realize an inclusive recovery for everyone in our region.”
Dziko’s dedication to ensuring that teachers and leaders of color have the support and skillset to lead future generations is a trademark of her work. Dziko’s experience working with the Foundation is an extension of this dedication. She has served on a number of community-based committees and has been an instrumental partner in helping the Foundation develop our North Star, the Blueprint for Impact, and grantmaking programs and policies furthering our mission to advance racial and economic equity in the Greater Seattle region.
“Over the past few years, I’ve had the honor of participating on a number of Seattle Foundation community-based committees focused on improving conditions for communities of color and changing how the Foundation works with grantees. This is the kind of work that’s needed to shift the ocean liner we call philanthropy, in a direction towards equity and truly meeting the needs of those being served. I believe Seattle Foundation is in a unique position of leadership in the sector, and I’m proud to be an official part of the team,” Dziko shared on joining the Board.
In her spare time, Dziko volunteers with several Washington-based organizations. She serves as a board member of the Washington Technology Industry Association and is a member of the Washington State Charter Schools Commission. She also serves as treasurer of the Greater Seattle Chapter of the Links, Incorporated.
