Nimco Bulale brings over 15 years of experience in policy advocacy, community and stakeholder engagement, strategic development, and coalition building across the public and nonprofit sectors.

Prior to joining Seattle Foundation, she led South Sound Strategies, a consulting firm supporting grassroots organizations with grant writing, technical assistance, and equity-centered capacity building. Nimco has worked extensively with local governments and foundations to drive systems-level change in early learning, K-12 education, and immigrant and refugee rights. She holds a bachelor’s degree in International Studies with a focus on Foreign Policy, Diplomacy, Peace and Security from the University of Washington and a Master’s degree in Public Administration from Seattle University. Nimco also serves on numerous community boards, including: CAIR-Washington, Southeast Seattle Education Coalition (SESEC), YMCA’s Social Impact Center, and the 37th LD Democrats.

During her free time, Nimco enjoys traveling, discovering new coffee shops, and enjoying Seattle’s impressive selection of restaurants.
