As Seattle Foundation celebrates 80 years of service, we announce newly appointed leaders of our board of trustees who will be instrumental in guiding our future.
New Board Chair, Robin Lien
Robin Lien, managing partner of Velix Group, is our new board of trustees chair. A tenured member of the board, Lien has served in various roles, including vice chair and as a member of our Governance Committee and the Organizational Strategy Working Group that provided critical feedback on the Foundation’s strategic planning process. Her background in technology leadership at Google and recent experience helping founders move from speculative scaling to data-backed, durable growth shapes her work at the Foundation, where she brings a forward-looking focus on revenue resilience and emerging technology.
“I’m excited to lead the board at this pivotal moment for Seattle Foundation and grateful to Donna Moodie for her leadership as our past chair. The strategies we build with leadership are informed by decades of partnership, innovation, and trust-based philanthropy alongside donors, nonprofits, and community leaders. Together, we strengthen the Foundation’s ability to meet the region’s most pressing needs,” said Lien.
Moodie will serve as immediate past board chair and work closely with Lien and our trustees.
New Board Vice Chair, Trish Millines Dziko
Trish Millines Dziko is new board vice chair, replacing Lien. A board member since 2021, Millines Dziko co-founded the Technology Access Foundation (TAF) after nearly two decades in the technology industry to promote student learning and increase the number and retention of education leaders of color in Washington state. She has served on a number of community-based committees and has been an instrumental partner in helping Seattle Foundation develop our North Star, the Blueprint for Impact, and grantmaking programs and policies furthering our mission to advance racial and economic equity in the Greater Seattle region.
New Investment Committee Chair, Jason Malinowski
Jason Malinowski is recently appointed Investment Committee chair. Malinowski currently
serves as chief investment officer of the Seattle City Employees’ Retirement System, where he manages a multibillion-dollar portfolio that provides retirement security for thousands of former city employees. Prior to joining the City of Seattle, he was a managing director at BlackRock, serving as the head of risk and quantitative analysis for alternative investments.
Malinowski replaces long-time Investment Committee chair Joseph Boateng. Boateng remains on the Investment Committee as an advisory member through December 2026.
New Audit Committee Chair, Andy Livingston
Andy Livingston replaces long-time Audit Committee chair, Ed Thomas. A Seattle-based partner with Deloitte who joined the board in 2026, Livingston has led service efforts for Fortune 500 companies, fostered growth within the Pacific Northwest’s technology startup community, and mentored emerging leaders across the firm. His deep commitment to leadership, community engagement, and strengthening the Seattle region makes him an outstanding addition to the Foundation’s mission of advancing equity and shared prosperity.
New Governance Committee Chair, Lucy Lee Helm
Lucy Lee Helm replaces Amy Carter as Governance Committee chair. A former Starbucks Coffee Company executive and litigator, Helm was at the forefront of the company’s diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts, including driving Starbucks’ successful gender and racial pay equity campaign in the United States and establishing its pro bono legal services program. Helm currently serves on the board of the Campaign for the Fair Sentencing of Youth and the advisory boards of the Endowment for Equal Justice and Disability Rights Advocates. Carter will remain a Governance Committee member following her two years of dedicated leadership as chair.
New Impact & Engagement Committee Co-Chair, Keri Rhodes
Keri Rhodes is recently appointed chair of the Impact & Engagement Committee, replacing Colleen Echohawk. A community volunteer and philanthropist, Rhodes brings an important perspective as a fundholder with a background in nonprofit fundraising. She has a deep commitment to actively redistributing her family’s generational wealth in the hopes of building a more just and equitable future for the most marginalized people in our community.
Honoring the Service of Trustees
Dr. Ed Taylor, vice provost and dean of Undergraduate Academic Affairs at the University of Washington, has rolled off the board after 10 years of service. Dr. Taylor served as the Foundation’s board chair from 2021-2024. Under his leadership, the Foundation welcomed Alesha Washington as president and CEO, and the board has engaged in thoughtful conversations around the organization’s journey, which led to the approval of a three-year strategic plan to make progress towards building a more joyful Greater Seattle region.
Ed Thomas, previous board chair of Seattle Foundation, has also rolled off the board after 10 years of service. Thomas retired as former managing senior partner of Deloitte’s Seattle office, and serves on the boards of Plymouth Housing, Pacific Trust Company and Seneca Group as well as previous board positions with Habitat for Humanity, Pacific Science Center, and Deloitte Political Action Council, among others.
