SPEAKERS
Joseph Boateng, Investment Committee chair, advises the board of trustees as it carries out its responsibility for the investment of Seattle Foundation assets. Before joining Casey Family Programs, he was a member of the Johnson & Johnson Investment Committee, responsible for managing over $17 billion in employee benefit assets worldwide.
Larry Buycks, leads Seattle Foundation’s financial strategy, operations, and organizational capacity innovations. As Chief Financial Officer, he serves as a strategic business partner to the CEO, leadership team, and board of trustees, advancing Seattle Foundation’s vision through decision support and systems improvements.
Mike Miller, CFA is the Chief Investment Officer of Crewcial Partners. He provides the firm’s clients with advice on asset allocation, manager selection, and performance evaluation/attribution, and he is an integral part of the research team. Mike has 34 years of experience in the consulting business, all of which have been spent with Crewcial. Mike holds a BS in computer ccience from Columbia University and an MA in statistics from Columbia University.
Mary Rennekamp, leads the strategy and integration of Seattle Foundation’s work as Chief Philanthropy Officer, ensuring we create sustainable relationships between our fundholders and community partners.
Kenla Torres-Sibley, Kenla is a member of the asset allocation division and leads the external public manager team for the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation Trust and Cascade Investment. Prior to joining Cascade, she was an Investment Director at Brown University’s endowment, where she concentrated on private equity and uncorrelated assets. She started her investment career in equity research at Liberty Square Asset Management, an international equity hedge fund, and later joined the International Active Equity Division at Grantham, Mayo, Van Otterloo, where she was an equity research analyst and portfolio manager. Kenla holds an MS in Investment Management from Boston University and a BS in Finance and Economics from the University of South Florida. She is a member of the investment committee of the United Negro College Fund’s Gates Millennium Scholars program.
Alesha Washington, began her tenure as President and CEO of Seattle Foundation in May 2022. Before joining Seattle Foundation she served as the program director for Vibrant Neighborhoods and Inclusive Economy at The George Gund Foundation based in Cleveland, Ohio. During her time at The Gund Foundation, Alesha led the collaborative efforts of the senior program team to strengthen democracy building and civic engagement strategies statewide.
