Civic Leadership

Seattle Foundation brings a unique blend of expertise, funding, and voice to our role as a civic leader

Seattle Foundation works to make our region a stronger, more vibrant community for all through our Blueprint for Impact. But we know that grantmaking alone will not achieve the outcomes Seattle Foundation is working to achieve. With deep localized knowledge and long-standing relationships, Seattle Foundation can uniquely catalyze and leverage resources and relationships for long-term structural change and policy advocacy that works to center and support community power and decision making.

Our approach to civic leadership is a collaborative one. We seek to fund and support community partners who lead policy efforts through a few of our Core Programs; deepen our role as a civic leader in our region over time, and learn from other foundations, organizations, and leaders across the country doing this important work.

We use our expertise and voice to stand in power with people in communities to change policies and systems for greater racial and economic equity. By strengthening our role as a convener and advocate, we will help to ensure that policies support every individual and family in our region. We aim to be a strong partner in changing systems and making Greater Seattle more just and equitable.
