Stephanie McLemore Bray brings over 30 years of experience in the non-profit sector, having served local, regional and national organizations that provide access to quality healthcare, higher education and economic stability to under resourced communities. Most recently, Stephanie served as the President and CEO of United Way California Capital Region in Sacramento, CA, where she launched a 20-year initiative to address poverty through education for low-income families.
Stephanie holds a bachelor’s degree in Philosophy from Douglass College, Rutgers University, and a certificate in Strategic Nonprofit Management from Harvard Business School. She is on the board of the Hurston/Wright Foundation, a nonprofit organization that supports Black writers, and is the founder of Black Women Write, an organization that uplifts Black women writers on the path to publication.
Stephanie has been working at Seattle Foundation since 2021.
