
In this role, Patterson ushers in the next phase for the Foundation, leading integrated, foundation-wide strategic communications in support of Funds, Grantees, and Foundational Campaigns. Most recently, Patterson unveiled Seattle Foundation’s “Journey to Joy” campaign aimed at building a more joyful Seattle region with homes families can afford, neighborhoods that endure, communities free from harm, and opportunities to thrive..

As an executive leader in marketing and communications, Patterson has led campaigns while working with major brands and initiatives including P&G, the Obama Administration’s Educate to Innovate Initiative, the Annie E. Casey Foundation and the award-winning advertising agency, GSD&M.
Patterson has a track record in advancing social change involving marginalized populations in partnership with private, public, and non-profit organizations. From leading a health equity campaign reaching over 2 million in support of an equitable recovery program in Atlanta, to strategizing socioeconomic and environmental policy for marginalized groups in Southeast Asia—Patterson has led storytelling initiatives proven to build awareness and spur action-driven impact.
Patterson holds an M.A. in Global Public Policy from Johns Hopkins University’s School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) and a B.A. from Clark Atlanta University. She is an alumna of the Fuse Corps Executive Fellowship in partnership with John Legend’s Human Level Initiative; a program aimed at tackling systemic racism by championing local change.
