Maria has a Masters in International Peace, Conflict Resolution and Development from Trinity College, Dublin where she wrote her thesis on the Gender and Development Model of International Development. She then served in SW Nepal with the US Peace Corps, before moving to Seattle where she managed and supported projects in the Renewable Energy and Global Health fields. Maria runs the Women in Global Health Seattle Book Club, the NW chapter of the Trinity Alumni Network and volunteers with two health access organizations. She is dedicated to supporting and implementing projects that create sustainable, community-centered, equity-driven change in communities and always asking “Why?”
When not volunteering, she loves soaking up the arts and culture scene in Seattle, going for long walks with her Nepali dog, Danny, looking at vernacular architecture, traveling, gardening, going dancing or cackling with friends.
Maria has been working at Seattle Foundation since 2026.
