Ken has 20+ years of experience in equitable development with an emphasis on supporting communities of color in accessing low-cost capital and technical assistance. He has created and managed several financing programs using tax credits, low-interest loans, and grants. Ken has also paired financing with technical assistance tailored to the specific needs of small businesses, organizations, and residents in local communities.
Prior to joining the Seattle Foundation, Ken served as the Pacific Northwest Regional Director of Community Engagement/Corporate Responsibility for JPMorgan Chase. As a member of JPMC’s market leadership team, Ken provided grant support to community organizations that advanced affordable housing and small business growth.
From 2001-2022, Ken served as the Director of Commercial Affordability and in other leadership roles for the City of Seattle – Office of Economic Development. Ken established the City’s federal New Markets Tax Credit program, administered the City’s HUD economic development financing programs, initiated small business technical assistance programs, and coordinated City COVID-19 financing programs for small businesses.
Ken received his Juris Doctor from Washington University School of Law in St. Louis and his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Rochester in Rochester, NY.
Ken has been working at Seattle Foundation since 2024.
